Sunday, 23^rd May 2004, at the Gozo Stadium, 4.00pm new Champions Zebbug Rovers and ex Champions Nadur Youngsters FC played their last match of the Easyline GFA 1^st Division League.  Celebration time for the Rovers!  The Gozo Stadium was packed by Zebbug fans and supporters.  The ‘Zebbugin’ celebrated in great style, the first Championship won by their beloved club.  Yellow and red colors were dominant.  As a match, neither side was superior, although Zebbug were more offensive especially in the first half.  The winning goal was scored by Sylvan Galea after a quarter of an hour in the second half.  Referee of the match was Mr Anton Zammit and his assistants were Mr Joe Camilleri and Mr Paul Apap.

     Zebbug were the better side in the first forty five minutes but few were the conclusions.  On the 10^th minute Eboh’s free kick was saved by Falzon.  Four minutes later Falzon partially saved on Leandro and from the rebound Falzon blocked Touali’s strong shot.  On the 27^th minute Cordina’s cross shot was saved again by Falzon.  On the 33^rd minute Nadur went close as Panic headed just wide Camilleri’s cross.  Two minutes later Leandro went close for Zebbug but Falzon blocked to a corner.  One minute in the injury time Bonello tried his fortune by a direct free kick which finished above the bar.

    Eight minutes in the second half Cordina tried to lob the ball but Falzon saved.  On the 15^th minute Zebbug opened the score.  Sylvan Galea surprised Falzon by a shot to the corner of the net from outside the box.  Zebbug fans were in glory for this advantage.  The Rovers preferred to control their opponents.  On the 20^th minute Nadur would have leveled but Panic shot wide.  On the 38^th minute Leandro could have sealed the win but after beating Falzon the ball was cleared by Hili.  One minute later Simoncic on the other side of the pitch shot wide.  Panic tried again three minutes from final whistle but his free kick went over the bar.

    After the match Zebbug Rovers FC were presented by the Champions Trophy of the First Division by the President of the Gozo Football Association Mr Joe Cordina.
