The Lions opened the game with a free kick of Cristiano after four minutes which went wide.  Two minutes later another free kick of Sandro Azzopardi was not concluded well by Abdul and Zebbug cleared the danger.  On the 7th minute Zebbug from another free kick on the other side of the pitch went close.  Leandro’s direct free kick was saved by Galea.  After 13 minutes of play Zebbug opened the score.  Tauli Mahjoub received a ball and from outside the box he fired a shot to the corner of the net.  With the strong wind behind them Zebbug tried to extend their lead and two minutes later Sylan Galea was close to score when he hit the bar.  Sannat were forced to defend and tried to control the game.

On the 36th Mario’s Azzopardi shot was brilliantly saved by Galea. Sannat opened the second half with the wind behind them and on the first minute Xuereb saved with difficulty Azzopardi’s shot.  Few minutes later Attard’s shot went wide.  On the 11th minute Zebbug doubled their lead when a cross from Leandro was deviated by Muscat to an unfortunate own goal.  Eboh had another shot saved by Galea and on the 22nd minute Sannat scored by Dione Lautier after a personal action.  Dione received a ball in the middle of the pitch and with a fast break he insisted and concluded to make the score 2-1.

Sannat tried to level but on the 33rd minute it was Zebbug who scored again.  Leandro’s cross found Eboh alone in Sannat box and he concluded with a beautiful first timer.  Galea had no chance to save.  Just before the final whistle Zebbug could have extended their lead in a counter attack when Sylvan was stopped at the right time by Pisani.
